Breville BBL550XL Ikon 610-Watt Stainless-Steel Blender (Kitchen) This blender is a piece of garbage. I can’t believe how many good reviews it is getting. The only thing I can think of is that these people only tried it once or twice. I have owned this blender now for 8 months. The tightening mechanism on the bottom to keep the blade in place tells you not to overtighten and not to overtighten. I think I have tried 300 ways, alternating how tight it was, and it has ALWAYS LEAKED. So annoying. Also, it doesn’t blend frozen fruit. I don’t know what this blender is good for, maybe sitting on the shelf, it’s very pretty, and it has a glass jar, but it doesn’t do it’s job. I first bought a Breville 700 or 800, top of the line Breville, and it was leaking, not blending frozen fruit, and just getting stuck. My spoon was in there blending more than it blended. Then I got this one, the lower powered one, the Breville 500 watt, and this one was even worse, a joke. I could see the wholes through which all the fluid was coming through. Being a mom of 3 I don’t have time for all this, but to this day, I have not been able to find a good blender. I tried the Cuisinart blender, but it shaved off it’s power mechanism the first time I used it. I wouldn’t mind spending even more for the Vitamix, but I really don’t like that it has a plastic container, and believe me,, they get scratched up from the first time you put frozen fruit in there.. I saw one that was only one years old, and it was so scratched up. I don’t feel safe using a plastic container for my kids’ smoothies. That’s where Salmonella lives. DOn’t buy this, it’s not worth you r headache. I would give this 0 stars if I could. It doesn’t even deserve one star. Also Breville customer service is useless and they don’t help at all. They don’t even list leaking in their troubleshooting section of their manual. Wow. |

Breville 800GRXL Die-Cast Indoor Barbeque and Grill (Kitchen) Williams Sonoma had this on clearance in December. I wanted a something to whip up a hot sandwich or to grill some burgers. This machine heats up quickly and the lid is nice and heavy. I use it to make sandwiches, pancakes, pizza and a bunch of other quick dishes. I like frying bacon on this because I can put the lid on it and it comes out flat and it doesn’t splatter as much. The downside is not being able to remove the plates for cleaning. Williams Sonoma is selling the next generation of this grill. It has removable plates and you can purchase extra plates. If it gets scratched up, you can always get another set. Also, if you want to have the grill mark on both sides, you can change out the bottom plate. It is a little smaller and not as tall. But at a price of $350, this is a much better deal. I put felt feet on my grill so I can slide it out from under my cabinet more easily. Sometimes, I put it over my cook top and use the overhead exhaust fan. I even use it to defrost meat. Heat up the plates a little bit, turn them off and put the meat between the plates. Capresso 276.04

Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor (Kitchen) The Breville BJE510XL Juice r works pretty well. It gets the job done quickly which was what I was looking for in a juicer.Here are the issues I have with the Juice r:1) When juicing citrus, there is a tendancy for pulp to make it into the juice.2) When ejecting the pulp into the bin, the pulp will stick to the top and eventually block the chute and force the pulp into the juice.3) The pulp is not very dry and very wet if you try to juice citrus.4) Cleanup is quick for most pieces except for the micromesh filter. It takes lots of scrubbing to get all the build up out of the filter.5) It creates ALOT of foam when juicing. This is expected from a centrifugal juicer but there is quite a bit of foam created.For the price, I do like this juicer and have recommended it to others. |

Breville JE900 Juice Fountain Professional Juice Extractor (Kitchen) The Breville JE900 is everything I would expect from Professional Juice Extractor. Though it advertises putting a whole apple down the chute, I still cut mine. I like the frother attachment for the pitcher; nice innovation. Easy clean-up and quite the work horse!
